Ginger Tea Breakfast | Recipe

Last week I was a bit ill due to the sudden weather changes which happen during spring... However, I didn't postpone my duties and I went to my English teacher. It's nice that she always prepares snacks for me so that I can always taste fruits or sweets during the written tasks.

My voice was also affected by the mild cold, so she asked whether I wanted her to prepare me a cup of Ginger Tea... She says that it's miraculous and that my cold would fly away as soon as I take a sip.

Why not?

Later, I discovered that Ginger Tea has more benefits that anyone would imagine:

  • It strokes a dull appetite and it fires up the digestive juices.
  • It can help overcome nausea.
  • It has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Ginger improves the absortion and assimilation of essential nutrients.
  • Reduces muscle pain caused by exercise.
  • It's beneficial for the asthma sufferers.
  • It's also useful for high blood pressure (hypertension).

It originates from Asia and it's one of the healthiest foods in the world. Ginger is aromatic and spicy and hence, brings a special flavour to many dishes.

You're probably wondering which is the best way to prepare the Ginger Tea? Well, below is the Recipe that I use:)

Ingredients needed:

  • Fresh ginger root
  • Cinnamon
  • Sweetener- preferably honey or maple syrup
  • Boiled water
Step-by-step Recipe:

For the water equivalent for 2 cups of tea, cut a piece as shown left and wash it under cold water.

Meanwhile, you can boil the tea water.

Next, cut the ginger in small pieces. You can also use the grater, but I find it easier this way.

Then, put the pieces in the boiled water and wait 3-5 more minutes.

After that, cover the bowl and let it infuse a few more minutes.

When the water has become a bit tinted, you can pour it in a cup using a strainer to separate the ginger pieces.

Next comes the customizable part:

Season the tea with cinnamon and add honey or maple syrup depending on taste.
Because I prepared the tea for breakfast, I wanted to combine it with a light, tasty snack.

I chose Cocktail Mix by Nutline, which contains pistachio, almonds, cashew, peanuts, hazelnuts and raisins. It's an interesting mixture of salty and sweet flavours which I really like having around:)

Enjoy! :)
